Letter of recommendation for –
Erin Zaideman
To whom it may concern,
Erin and I have discussed a student-teaching opportunity in Colorado. I fully support her! She studied abroad with me for nearly three weeks in southern Italy and Sicily (July 2012). I believe that she benefited from this experience and is an excellent candidate for a student-teaching position in Colorado. I am confident that she will be an excellent representative of the University of Northern Iowa. Erin proved herself as an engaged learner and responsible student/person throughout her coursework and travels abroad. During her study aboard experience, she was very eager to immerse herself in the Italian culture and actively sought out opportunities that would benefit her emerging teaching career. She was open to trying different foods, working on her Italian language skills, and soaking in the culture as a whole. Erin is an excellent student-athlete, goal keeper, and she has learned how to properly manage her very busy schedule. Beyond time management, Erin also exhibits tremendous ‘people’ skills. I have personally witnessed Erin, successfully interact and engage with her peers, teammates, children, and even strangers in Italy! Based on these data, I am confident that Erin is capable of working with diverse learners in any capacity (in or outside of the classroom). She did very well academically in my classes, has helped with post-program efforts, and is helping with recruiting efforts for my next Capstone course in Italy. Erin has done an excellent job sharing her experience and, because of this, many of the students currently signed up for my Capstone course are pre-service teachers. I have every confidence in Erin and know that she will be an excellent teacher in Colorado, or wherever else life takes her!
Sincerely,
Dr. Chad Heinzel
